MIN TER LIM
Co-Founder & Design Director
Min Ter Lim is the Co-Founder and Design Director of MIIM. He was previously a project leader architect at Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) in Denmark, where he was responsible for several key projects in the United States, Sweden, France, Germany, China, Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Singapore.
He received his Master of Architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design, where he also was a studio instructor, design critic, and teaching assistant. He graduated with Honors from Wesleyan University, and received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Studio Arts. His undergraduate study focused on the intersection between the two polar extremes of the Arts and Social Sciences, with a particular interest in Urban Economics and the multiple urban spatial structure models that define the built environment.
Min’s inter-disciplinary background allows him to quickly identify critical issues and their possible solutions within strong conceptual frameworks. By employing a vast set of tools and skills that are improvised from other fields not traditionally used in architecture, he works comfortably at all building types, scales, and complexities.
Min has also worked for Machado & Silvetti in Boston, Zhu-Pei in Beijing, and Kyu Sung Woo Architects in Cambridge. He currently teaches architecture design at National Cheng Kung University, and previously at Tamkang University. His studios focus on investigating new paradigms in design that integrated architecture, urbanism, and landscape ecologies to create cities of the future.
